Books, Movies, and Media - Red Sox
Fever Pitch (2005) Jimmy Fallon, Drew Barrymore.
Like a typical Red Sox season, this Red Sox love movie raised high hopes but ultimately kind of sucked. It was so bad it made me not want to see any more Drew Barrymore movies for a while. Thank god it didn’t star Scarlett Johansson!
rating: 9.5

Reverse of the Curse of the Bambino (2004)
This HBO documentary examining the fragile psyche of the Sox fan and the history of team letdowns is the best movie ever made, bar none. It was first made in 2003 as The Curse of the Bambino, and it was good then. Victory just made it perfect.
rating 10

Fear Strikes Out Fear Strikes Out (1957) starring Anthony Perkins Based on the book by Red Sox star, Jimmy Piersall, but later "disowned" by him for reportedly distorting the facts, this movie documents Piersall's struggle with mental illness while playing for Boston. rating: 4

Faithful: Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season, by Stewart O’Nan and Stephen King (2004)
Leave it to the master of the macabre to tell the most unbelievable story known to man. The Red Sox win the World Series.

Books, Movies, and Media - Red Sox
Red Sox Century, by Glen Stout and Richard A. Johnson (2000, 2005) A coffee table history book as big as third base, with 500 pages of vintage photos and textbook agony. That is to say, a beginner’s guide to being a Sox fan.
rating: 5

101 Reasons to Love the Red Sox: And 10 Reasons to Hate the Yankees
(2005), by David Green
That’s not enough reasons to hate the Yankees
rating: 5

The Big BamThe Big Bam: The Life & Times of Babe Ruth (2006) by Leigh Montville
A great read; although Ruth's life has been well-documented in several biographies, Montville digs even deeper. Sox fans will loathe Harry Frazee even more!
rating: 8
